Jake Loper serves as the Head Trader of the Executive Board for the Ohio University Student Equity Management Group. Currently a sophomore, Jake is majoring in Finance and Business Analytics but has started to diversify his coursework across history and language classes as well. In addition to academics, this spring Jake is interning with The Riverside Company, working under deal teams in the Riverside Micro-Cap Fund.

Jake is passionate about constant growth in all aspects, with a specific interest in investments and the real estate sector. In just 18 months, the group has grown Jake professionally and personally more than he ever imagined. Jake is pursuing internships in investment banking and private equity, attracted by the steep learning curve and opportunities for continuous development. Jake credits OUSEMG for giving him the opportunity and resources to immerse himself within finance and investments, as well as fostering connections with like-minded members who have become lifelong friends.This past summer, Jake served as the summer intern for OUSEMG, managing the $11.5 million OUSEMG portfolio and monitoring 38 equity holdings. He also completed Project Destined’s Real Estate Private Equity Virtual Internship, diving into commercial real estate valuation and pro-forma models.

In addition to his role with OUSEMG, Jake is a member of the Ohio University Wandell Leadership Fellows and serves as the VP of Finance for Beta Theta Pi. Outside of finance, Jake enjoys volunteering with the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania, utilizing his fluent Japanese to connect with his culture and community. In his free time, Jake enjoys golfing, soccer, traveling, skiing, and trying new foods while documenting them on his food blog @lopesgrubbin.
