Zach Marshall is a current Senior Analyst and former President of the Ohio University Student Equity Management Group, as well as a Member of the Wandell Leadership Fellows. He is a senior Finance and Business Analytics major from Ashburn, Virginia. Zach contributes most of his success to the family he’s gained in OUSEMG and the mentorship he has received. Since his first semester on campus as a freshman, Zach took the initiative to join OUSEMG to follow his passion for investing. Even after a rough high school experience, he was immediately hit with the feeling that he was exactly where he should be. The group gave him peers he could lean on in times of need and found a way to outlet his creativity and curiosity. Within the group, Zach has moved up the ranks from Intern to two semesters as Head Analyst, two semesters as Portfolio Manager on the Executive Board, and finally President. He has now taken an advisory role in his last semester at Ohio University.

Professionally, Zach completed an internship with Wells Fargo Advisors his freshman year back home in Virginia, as well as an Equity Research internship with Victory Sycamore Capital in Cincinnati, OH after his sophomore year. Through his experience, Zach has found an intense passion for Long/Short investing, as well as energy companies. He enjoys being able to make a thesis on a commodity and see it play out in real time in equity form. This past summer, Zach learned from a different experience in Private Credit interning with the Treasury Asset Management team at Golub Capital in Chicago, IL, where he was responsible for aiding in managing a ~$45B CLO business. After this experience, Zach was lucky enough to get a full-time offer in bp’s 3-year Supply, Trading, and Shipping Graduate Program in Chicago, IL. He is ecstatic that he gets to work on his passion while developing the necessary skills to be world-class in the energy industry.

In his free time, Zach enjoys creating. He has extensive experience with Social Media and scaling faceless theme pages where he has built multiple successful pages, with his highest follower count being 120k. In addition, Zach enjoys playing hockey, lifting, traveling, video games, meditation, and chicken and rice.
