“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to become one of them”
- Ralph Marston
Zoe, from Toledo, OH, is a senior at Ohio University studying finance and business analytics. After serving as President of OU’s Association of Women in Finance and Vice President of the Student Equity Management Group for two semesters, her time in leadership positions has come to a close. Zoe joined OUSEMG her fall semester of freshman year and has since developed strong and lasting bonds with those she has met in the organization and grown her personal and professional skills. She has thoroughly enjoyed learning how to effectively research equity securities, manage an investment portfolio for a client, and build her network by fostering relationships with alumni. She is also grateful for the opportunity to have spent the past two years working with the Executive Board to implement new initiatives for the group. Overall, OUSEMG has created the opportunity for her to step out of her comfort zone and broaden her understanding of the markets.
Aside from the Student Equity Management Group, Zoe has gotten heavily involved in the Association of Women in Finance at OU, where she has held various positions on the Executive Board since her second semester of college. She values being a part of and leading a close-knit group of young women interested in the finance field, as well as supporting members in reaching their goals and dreams. Zoe is also an active member of the Wandell Leadership Fellows program, through which she scrutinizes her unique leadership style to become more self-aware and able to positively contribute to teams. Through this program she also engages with seasoned executives within the business world and commits to digesting and applying the curriculum that is taught each week.
Her interests and hobbies include plant-based cooking and baking, playing pool, taking F45 classes, and spending time outdoors. She is driven by leveraging the resources available to her at Ohio University to ensure her college career is full of learning, growth, and relationship building. She values helping others and identifying how she can play a part in their academic and professional journeys, whether that be connecting them with an internship opportunity or being available to talk when things get tough. This past summer, Zoe completed her internship with JPMorgan Chase within the bank’s Commercial & Specialized Industries division in Chicago, IL and looks forward to returning as a full-time analyst next summer.
